Sheryl & Murray are now part of the teaching team leading a new Young Adults “Bible Academy” class on Sundays (Sheryl continues her extensive involvement in the weekly Women’s Bible Study group & Fri night adolescent group). It’s a delight to come alongside young Ecuadorian believers to help equip them to teach when its “their turn.” Ignoring his protests, the church elected Murray to be overall director for the new Sunday morning Bible Academy for all age groups. This gives him a formal mandate to help train/equip leaders in the church to know/teach God’s Word accurately & effectively. Pray for wisdom/skill in making the most of the opportunity and for the Holy Spirit to create a gnawing hunger for Biblical truth in the hearts of these growing Lojano believers.
We praise the Lord to report good progress toward the two-pronged ministry we desire:
- Teaching and training future Ecuadorian doctors, while seeking to see these young people come to saving faith in Christ, mature in Christ, and catch a vision to reach out to others; and
- Mentoring and training local Ecuadorian believers with the goal of raising up leaders equipped and eager to reach/teach others. Sheryl and I are meeting 1-on-1 with members of our church.
