I affirm our commitment to the Resurrection Church and the desire to resume pastoral ministry as soon as I finish my program (which will be done in about three years if God wills
We are so blessed with your prayers. We do need them. Please, keep praying for us and the Resurrection of Christ Church of Almaty. It is the time when our President is going to sign or not to sign a new highly oppressive religious legislation. If it happens many churches will be in great jeopardy. The draft has evoked deep concerns from almost all religious communities of the county. Even the Orthodox Church made a quite negative assessment of the law’s draft. I believe that the Lord wants our prayers in this critical moment in history of the church in Kazakhstan.
Also, please, pray for the building project for the Resurrection Church of Almaty. So far, the church suffers from numerous transitions from one place to another. Besides, the rent agreement is expiring in a few months. According to the new legislation a church without an established physical address cannot be re-registered and therefore should go underground. If God wills, the Resurrection will accept this challenge. However, the best option will be the open and visible ministry which gives much more opportunities to preach the Gospel around Almaty and the country.
Finally, pray for our family. We need your prayers in our walk in the Lord. Pray for our wisdom to raise kids who love and serve God. Pray for our wisdom in the time management. We want to be the family united in Christ regardless all challenges and pressures. Pray for the strength to finish the program. There are two more semesters to take, seven comprehensive exams to pass (praise the Lord I have already passed my German and French), and the dissertation to write. It is not easy but “for God all things are possible” (Matt 19:26).
