Campus Crusade for Christ – Budapest

Greetings from the other side of the world! We arrived in Budapest on Friday afternoon March 27th (with all of our luggage!) after a very smooth and easy overseas trip. The boys did great and have adjusted to the time change very well, although Cade has had a couple of rough nights. After leaving the airport our director took us to a panzio (kind of a cross between a hotel and a bed & breakfast), which has served as our temporary housing. He also brought us two cell phones and a pak-n-play – things we were trusting would fall into place even as we boarded the plane. We do not have a car, but have managed to get where we need to go by walking or catching a ride with friends. God is so good! Spring is in the air here with temperatures in the 50′s and 60′s and a little rain. In fact, I think we just missed the tail end of winter, as the city was dusted with snow the day before we arrived.

We jumped right into the search for housing on Saturday and may have already found what we are looking for! There is an American family with a different ministry that is moving back to the U.S. on Wednesday. They allowed us to walk through their home, even in the midst of packing. We really loved the house and felt that it was above and beyond what we envisioned for ourselves, yet still in our price range. The house is within walking distance of our panzio and within walking distance of the area office where I will be working eventually! Ben and Drew are excited about it, too, and it just seems to be God’s provision for us. Thank you so much for praying for us in this! We could potentially move in within a week to 10 days.

We also wanted to let you know that Jen and I have felt an indescribable peace since we arrived that can only be explained by the fact the you are praying for us and God is answering. In every step of our journey we can’t emphasize enough how much you are a part of what we are doing here. It has been faith-inspiring to see God move in the areas that we have asked you to lift up in prayer. We are grateful that you are praying for us and this ministry and we want you to know that the Lord is at work through your prayers. By His Grace, Ryan, Jen, Ben, Drew, and Cade

December Prayer Letter

May 2010 Update

November 6, 2009

We have had a great first couple of months of ministry here at the start of the semester. We will be sending out a prayer letter very soon to fill you in on some of the details.

But for now we wanted to write and ask you to pray for our Fall Retreat this weekend. It is designed for the Christian students who are involved with us, but there are always non-Christians who come, too. I (Ryan) am in charge of a seminar on apologetics and will also be organizing an activity for Saturday afternoon’s free time.
Please pray that God would work in students’ lives to deepen their love for Him and their commitment to walk with Him. Also, please pray for the non-Christians who come that they would receive Christ this weekend.
Also, we are already beginning the process of recruiting for next summer’s Speak Out English camps. If you or someone you know is interested in coming to Hungary to help us out, here is a great website to go to for information: www.speakout.hu/staff. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about it.
We are so thankful for you and your faithfulness to us! God is truly using you to impact Hungary.
By His Grace,
Ryan, Jen, Ben, Drew, and Cade
