At the beginning of the fall term, about 6,500 freshmen moved in. They had just said goodbye to their parents and are beginning what may be the most important chapter of their life. What they choose to value and live for will shape them as they leave here to shape our nation and the rest of the world. These are important days! Our desire is to give every student a quality opportunity to find out more about Jesus Christ and the discipleship and training we offer. Our goal this fall is to sow the gospel to 18 new pockets of campus. We are seeking new opportunities in dorms, athletic teams, Corps outfits, freshman leadership organizations, sororities, fraternities as well as with Hispanic and African American students.
Prayer: Sensing the need to call on the Lord, we started the semester with 40 days of prayer and fasting.
Reach: We enjoyed continuing to meet interested students. As far as we know 188 students have put their faith in Christ so far.
Build: This spring we had a great group of 37 students coming to our 7 week ministry training course.
Send: Over 100 Aggies have started applications for summer missions projects with Campus Crusade.
Thankful Hearts: We have lots to give thanks for over the semester so far. Erin’s group has grown to 9 women. One is going to intern with us next year and 5 are going on summer projects. Our Greek ministry (Fuel) has been getting to know people in more different houses. They just went on a Spring Break service trip to Galveston (where hurricane Ike hit) with 140 Aggies, including 70 Greek students. While working they were able to build relationships and let others know about Fuel. Our international student outreach, Bridges, regularily has 50 students from 13 countries coming to a Friday Night gathering, They eat, play games, share about Jesus, and enjoy an evening in an American home. For many it the first time they have heard the gospel.
